Class of 2026, welcome to your Virtual Transition Day. We are so disappointed that we will not get to meet you face to face but are really looking forward to meeting you in September, or before if you are able to join our fantastic summer school. The staff and students all want to make you feel a part of the school community and we have developed this page to provide you with some insights into school life.

This page will remain up until you start in September, so feel free to dip in and out of this as you wish. Look carefully at the student booklet where you will find details of our Autumn exhibition of your transition journey so far. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to let us know and a member of the transition team or Year 7 pastoral team will be in touch.

In this section you will find a welcome from Mrs Lowe, our Headteacher and an assembly by Dr Holdsworth, your Raising Standards Leader.

Form Tutor Messages

Hopefully you will have received your form allocations this week, as the Kingsway sorting hat has been very busy! Click on your form below to meet your new form tutor. They will be your daily contact and will very likely be with you for the next 5 years of your Kingsway journey. They will be your personal guide, be there to get you organised and pass on messages, and most importantly check on your wellbeing. For most things they will be your first port of call. If you have time it might be a good idea to click on as many of the staff as possible so you can be introduced to them, you never know you may have them teach you at some point!

Click on your tutor below to access their welcome video!

Transition Virtual Lessons

Whilst we know that there is nothing that would replace a face-to-face lesson with a teacher, we thought you would like a sample of some of the subjects that we offer. In this section you will find a student booklet with sheets to accompany every lesson below. Print off what you need as you need it.

There is no need to bring the work into school, but in the Autumn we hope to display the work on our Parent Information Evening, you may also wish to undertake the summer project tasks. Information about this is on page 3, we hope that you will be inspired by the content and discussion raised by the lessons and extend this to a piece of work in which you can be creative as possible.

Virtual Tour and Map

Here you will find a short video on some of the more specialised areas in school. Mr Carr, the school librarian, also has completed a video for you to see the library which we hope you will make full use of. Take a look at the virtual map and click on locations to see other areas of the school. Can anyone spot Mrs Jones?
