COVID-19 Update – 5th October 2020

Over the weekend we were informed of 2 separate positive cases of COVID-19 in Year 11. This situation will be very frustrating for all concerned, especially as Year 11 had only just returned.  We are following the advice given to us by the relevant agencies and want to have students in school but when we can be sure that it is appropriate and safe to do so.

We are implementing a process to identify the close contacts of these students with the aim of bringing the majority of Year 11 students into school before the end of the period of self-isolation. We want to complete this in a timely manner but need to ensure it is done so that the risk of infection is managed.

Until further notice, Year 11 students will need to self-isolate until Monday 19th October, other members of the household do not need to self-isolate. Should a student develop symptoms then they must get a COVID-19 test and inform the school of the result.

We will share information with you as soon as possible, please monitor our website and social media. Students will continue to access their remote learning in the meantime.

COVID-19 Update – 29th September 2020

Last Updated: 29th September, 15:30

We can now confirm that the student in Year 8 who we understood to have tested positive for COVID-19 does NOT have COVID-19.

We have further information from the family, and although some members of the household have tested positive, the student at Kingsway has not. This student concerned will be self-isolating for the required period and not attending school.

We are pleased to say that this means our Year 8 students will be able to attend school as normal tomorrow.

We apologise for any confusion and anxiety this may have caused.
