The subjects and qualifications you study over Years 10 and 11 will affect how you spend your time during your next two years at The Kingsway School. It would also have a great impact on deciding what subject you want to study for higher education and beyond.
How do I choose the right course?
Think about what you enjoy, it is always useful to study a subject further when you enjoy it. Ask yourself, where you would like to be at 16, 18 and 21. Find out if there are specific subjects you need to study now, so that you can be where you want to be.
Do you prefer learning through practical work, enjoy physical activities or being creative through drawing or performing music? Do you have an interest in a particular language or culture?
Think about what you enjoy at home as well as in school. What are your strong attributes that you can develop further?
There are compulsory subjects too, but for the first time you will have a chance to shape some of your curriculum.
Choosing the right options in Year 9 is vital and it is very important to think about those subjects you want to study in Years 10 and 11. You need to research into available career options for your chosen subjects and talk them through with your parents/carers.
