A group of Year 5 pupils from Meadowbank Primary School attended an afternoon Electronics session at The Kingsway School.
The main objectives were to learn about components and how to put together a circuit onto prototype board. They watched a video and then worked in teams using a circuit diagram to build and test an alarm circuit which reacted to light. They were really excited when they got the circuit functioning and the classroom filled with the sound of sirens as each alarm was successfully tested and working.
The pupils were then confident to develop their circuits to meet their needs such as the alarm reacting to moisture, darkness and dryness. They took away their circuits and circuit diagrams with them to show their fellow peers.
It was a pleasure to meet the pupils and their teachers, and it was an enjoyable afternoon for all.
