Kingsway Headteacher recognised at Parliament on International Women’s Day.

Our very own Headteacher was recognised as an inspiration at the House of Commons on International Women's Day (Thursday 8th March).

Mary Robinson, MP for Cheadle gave a speech to mark the centenary of the vote for women. Mary talked about the progress being made in inspiring young girls to pursue careers in STEM based subjects. Mrs Lowe, who came from a background in Engineering received a special mention and the school was also highlighted for its work in promoting STEM and being recently awarded the STEM award by the Museum of Science and Industry. Mrs Lowe said:

"We are proud of our ethos of seeing no limit to the potential of every child at Kingsway. Our students are taught to have the confidence to follow any career path they wish, regardless of gender, race or disadvantage. All we expect of them is to excel at whatever they do. I am delighted to have been mentioned by Mary Robinson and will certainly continue to encourage girls to follow STEM careers. Who knows where it will take you ... Headteacher of Kingsway has certainly been the pinnacle of my career".
