GCSE Results 2017

The Kingsway School is delighted with the GCSE results for the class of 2017, particularly in light of the new and more challenging GCSE English and maths qualifications.

70% of students achieved ‘standard passes’ or better (Grades 9 to 4) in both English and maths, which is a fantastic achievement and testament to all the hard work of students and staff. It is particularly pleasing to note that a staggering 41% of students achieved the very top grades in English (Grades 9 to 7) and that so many individual students achieved the new top grade 9 in English Language (18 students), English Literature (22 students) and maths (12 students).

Headteacher Jo Lowe says

“I would like to congratulate the class of 2017 on their fabulous achievements today. This reflects their determination to succeed in a climate of more challenging and rigorous qualifications. My gratitude also extends to the amazing staff at the Kingsway School.”

Examples of individual students who have excelled this year include Hannah Bailey, Edward Wakefield, Rachael Tibbitts, Uthman Al-Wandawi, Michael Evans, Francesca Shallcross, Nour Al-Malky, Maddy Prescott and Niamh O'Shaughnessy.
